 Description:  Effective July, 1, 2012, the following municipalities are either imposing, increasing, or decreasing their simplified municipal telecommunications tax rate. The combined rate is the statewide rate of 7.00 percent (.07) plus the Simplified Municipal Telecommunications Tax imposed at the local level (up to a maximum rate of 6.00 percent (.06) outside Chicago).
